Therapeutic QiGong (1st set) with Marshall and Gail Garland
Therapeutic QiGong (1st set) with Marshall and Gail Garland
Therapeutic Qi Gong, an internal or soft medical Qi Gong, aids in recovering from traumatic injuries, enhancing physical abilities, breathing, and mental acuity.
Dr. Zhuang Yuan Ming, a trauma specialist at the Government Hospital in Shanghai, developed this QiGong set during the 1960s and 1970s. He combined his expertise in modern medicine and scientific principles with ancient Chinese martial arts, breathing techniques, and Taoist movement practices to create this unique practice.
Set 1 consists of 18 slow, deliberate exercises that progressively increase in intensity to target specific muscle groups and isolated joints. These exercises are synchronized with the breath and deliver constant stimulation to the internal organs and the sympathetic nervous system. This stimulation leads to a positive impact on the entire body, encompassing physical, mental, and emotional well-being. Enhanced oxygen circulation and toning the vagus nerve contribute to this holistic effect.

What is QiGong?
QiGong originated in China over 4,000 years ago. It is based on traditional Chinese medicine principles, which describe that Qi, or life-force energy, is present in every living thing.
According to the principles, a person’s Qi must flow smoothly throughout the body in order for people to be healthy and feel their best. If Qi becomes stagnant or blocked in a certain area, health problems can occur.
QiGong uses slow, gentle, simple movements, along with synchronized breathing patterns to promote healthy energy flow and reduce stagnation of Qi. Proper flow of Qi can help the body engage its own healing processes.
